Carahealth Heavy Bleeding
This tincture contains a blend of herbs known as Uterine Astringents. These herbs have a vasoconstrictive action on the endometrial circulation, thereby reducing blood loss from the uterus, whether in excessive periods (menorrhagia), bleeding between periods (metrorrhagia), or with organic diseases such as fibroid, endometriosis, cysts or mennorhagia associated with menopause. The tincture can also be used to astringe bleeding anywhere including nosebleeds and bruising.

It also has a role to play in easing the changes of the menopause. As an emmenagogue it stimulates the proper menstrual flow if there is any resistance. However, in the often apparently paradoxical way of herbal remedies, Lady's Mantle is a useful uterine astringent, used in both menorrhagia and metrorrhagia.

The plant also reduces fluid retention by increasing the permeability of the capillaries and allowing the re-absorption of excess fluid back into the circulatory system. The plant is taken in small doses internally for the treatment of a wide range of venous diseases, including hardening of the arteries, varicose veins, phlebitis, leg ulcers, haemorrhoids and frostbite. It is also made into a lotion or gel for external application. A tea made from the bark is used in the treatment of malaria and dysentery, externally in the treatment of lupus and skin ulcers. All herbal tinctures come in 200ml bottles, taken at either 5ml 3 x day or 7 1/2 ml 2 x day. One bottle taken at this therapeutic dose will last 2 weeks. All herbs are either 1 in 1s or 1 in 2s meaning they are 1 part herb in 1 or 2 parts liquid respectively, as opposed to other herbs on the Irish and UK market which are either 1 in 3s or 1 in 5s. Therefore my tinctures are at least 2 x greater in strength and effectiveness. They are also organic or wildcrafted where available and I do not use endangered species.
Whilst the Carahealth Herbal Tincture range has been formulated to have no negative drug/herb interactions.
